How to compile php-sqlite, php-sqlite3 and php-mcrypt on CentOS and RHEL

A while ago, redhat decided to leave some PHP extensions out of their distributions, some of which are useful or needed in a variety of situations. This article will show you the proper way to bake these extensions in your kitchen, and create your own php-* RPMs that work like they were in the distribution all along.
